General Reporters

Breakingviews is on the look-out for talented potential writers to join the City’s most influential commentary service. It’s a rare chance to write agenda-setting views that will be read daily by the world’s financial elite.

You don’t need a background in journalism. But you do need to be financially savvy, analytical, resourceful and opinionated. You’ll also have ability to build contacts at the highest level, and a deep interest in current affairs.

Please contact Amber Rudd, ar@lawnstone.com, with a CV and covering letter.

London

Energy correspondent/editor

This is a critical new role for breakingviews.com – and potentially one of the most interesting. The successful candidate will need to combine deep understanding of energy sector, first-class contacts and sophisticated financial analysis skills. The aim is to provide the most authoritative comment and shape the debate in one of the most important sectors in the global economy.

This is a wide-ranging beat covering not just the oil and gas and utilities sectors, but also wider energy-related geopolitical issues. The candidate will need to be equally adept covering issues as varied as energy security, climate change, carbon trading, utilities unbundling, and the politics of Gazprom as well as the latest sector deals and coverage of the corporate equity market such as with BP or Shell.

It is a global role requiring international coverage. It will require a fair bit of travel and, where needed, liaising with our US correspondents.

Please contact Amber Rudd, ar@lawnstone.com, with a CV and covering letter.
